A ten kilometre road ride finds us back on the Munda Biddi Trail. We learn of the region’s logging history at Jarrahwood and kick back under the only shady tree at Nala Mia Campsite.
We arrive at Nannup tired, happy and high fiving. We vow to do it again. We set up camp on the shores of the Blackwood River and I promptly SMS elation and gratitude to our physiotherapist and cycling mentor, an avid long distance mountain bikers in spite of being well into her sixties.
As with all the best journeys there was no let-up in the sheer richness of what we saw and experienced. Each day varies from the next; wildflowers, vast forest, native fauna, temperate cycling climate, untouched bushland and rural vistas. The Munda Biddi Trail is a magnificent experience; suited to all cycling abilities. Go at your own pace. Do only a small section. Go in a supported tour. Do as we do; don’t let your combined ages of near one hundred put you off. Whatever you do, do not miss out on this beautifully scenic adventure.
